In order to fulfill the educational goals of the DFL of Fooyin University, there are four categories in its courses: (1)courses of general English (2)courses of English for specific purposes (ESP) (3)professional courses and (4)interdisciplinary courses. The courses of general English are focused on the training of the skills in English speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation. As to professional courses and the courses of ESP, they involve the learning of the knowledge in the fields of tourism, teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and business marketing and management. Interdisciplinary courses include the learning of what should be known in the daily life. Students are usually encouraged to take professional tests and to pass the specified score in English proficiency tests for getting their certificates which are needed in the workplace.
